This is so terrible.
I remember a case some time in the past where a client’s error led them to believe that they were divorced and when I took over their file and advised them of the position their whole world collapsed.
They had a wedding booked; imagine all that excitement, flowers paid for, wedding cars booked – the whole lot! We had to work incredibly hard and very, very quickly to get their decree absolute or simply put, the wedding was not going to happen.
More recently, I had a client who was going through a divorce but her soon to be ex husband had remarried her some twenty or is years previously when he only had decree nisi. Her marriage was not valid and we had to consider involving the Queens Proctor then too.
The effects can be devastating which I understand all too well from my experience as a family Solicitor.
That is precisely why I am willing to assist anyone affected by this court blunder free of charge to help them put their lives back together.
